According to Tagblatt in Switzerland, Rangers could land a new striker with St Gallen set to sell Cedric Itten.
It’s claimed that St Gallen have decided to sell Itten, and he notably didn’t play last night as St Gallen lost 3-1 to Young Boys.
Itten watched on from the stands, and it now seems that it’s because he is being sold by St Gallen this summer.
The report notes that Rangers are believed to be keen on Itten, with Steven Gerrard now accelerating the club’s pursuit of new strikers.
The 23-year-old has starred for St Gallen since signing from Basel in 2018, smashing 19 goals and six assists in 34 league outings this term.
Itten also has three goals in two caps for Switzerland, and gives Rangers a different option given that he stands at 6ft 2in and is dangerous in the air.

It now seems that Itten could be heading to Ibrox, and it’s a bit of a merry-go-round as ex-Rangers hitman Florian Kamberi is heading to St Gallen to replace Itten.
With Kemar Roofe joining Rangers today too, we could see a revamped Rangers attack this season – but it may also mean that Alfredo Morelos is on the move.
