Massadio Haidara has been told he can leave Newcastle and Saint-Etienne are considering a bid.
Saint-Etienne are weighing up a move for Newcastle United’s Massadio Haidara as they look to solve their issues at left-back, according to French publication Le 10 Sport.
The Chronicle reported in June that Haidara was among a host of Magpies players that manager Rafa Benitez was hoping to sell this summer to allow for new transfers to come in.

From that admittedly lengthy original list, Daryl Murphy is the only one to have left permanently and transfer dealings at St James’ Park have been slower than Benitez would have hoped as a result.
Now the 24-year-old is attracting the interest of St Etienne, who are yet to make a concrete offer but are starting to try and work out what Newcastle would be prepared to sell the defender for.
Haidara joined the Premier League club from AS Nancy in the summer of 2013 and has since gone on to make 52 appearances in all competitions, with his role having been bit-part at best.
The full-back played just three senior matches for Benitez’s side as they won promotion from the Championship in 2016/17, so any offer for the Frenchman – who has entered the final year of his current contract – is likely to be considered.
