Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly set to increase their bid for the Leeds United winger after reportedly having a £10 million pffer rejected.

Leeds United's Jack Clarke warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Sheffield United at Elland Road on March 16, 2019 in Leeds, England.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Spurs are continuing to work towards a move for Leeds starlet Jack Clarke after seeing their first bid for the youngster rejected.

Whites fans may get the feeling that Clarke’s departure is starting to look inevitable. The Daily Mail reported last week that Tottenham had made a £10 million bid for the winger who only made his professional debut this past season.

It appeared that that offer had been rejected as the Daily Mirror then reported that the Championship side had told Spurs that they would need to pay £20 million for the 18-year-old.

But the Mail is now suggesting that Tottenham are working on a £12 million move for the starlet as Mauricio Pochettino looks to get the ball rolling on potential summer deals ahead of their Champions League final clash with Liverpool.

Based on previous reports, it would not be a surprise if Leeds were still not willing to sell Clarke for that figure. But perhaps it should not be a shock if the two clubs do manage to agree a compromise that sees the academy graduate move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for less than £20 million.

As difficult as it will be to lose Clarke, some supporters will back a sale as it may give Marcelo Bielsa’s transfer kitty a significant boost as the club look to go one step further in the Championship promotion race next season. And it may perhaps also ensure that some of other key men within Bielsa’s squad go nowhere.
