Tottenham Hotspur are again being linked with winger Gelson Martins.

According to a report from The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on winger Gelson Martins after he motioned to rescind his contract with Sporting.
Sporting are facing a complete nightmare, as a number of players are attempting to terminate their contracts after fans launched an attack on them during a training session.
Portuguese internationals Rui Patricio, William Carvalho, Bruno Fernandes and Gelson Martins are arguably Sporting’s four most valuable players, but all are rescinding their deals, along with Daniel Podence and Bas Dost.

The club’s official website confirmed that the six players are attempting to leave, but would return if Bruno de Carvalho is ousted as president in what is becoming a bizarre saga in Lisbon.
If Martins does manage to get out of his contract, then he will certainly be in demand, as The Times report that Tottenham Hotspur are once again keen to secure him on a free transfer.
However, it’s add that not only are Tottenham’s bitter rivals Arsenal keen, but they would also face competition from Benfica, Sporting’s great rivals, in what would be a controversial move from Martins to move just a matter of yards on a free transfer.

Martins, 23, possesses blistering pace and is one of Europe’s top young wingers, and enjoyed a fine campaign with 13 goals and 13 assists in 52 appearances for the Portuguese giants.
On a free transfer, Martins could be one of the signings of the summer, and whilst there seems to be a long way to go until his status as a free agent can be confirmed, Tottenham may be preparing themselves to make a move.
