Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking at Sampdoria’s Riccardo Pecini.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Sampdoria scout Riccardo Pecini ahead of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham take on Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium this evening, and need to win after a patch run of form put their Champions League spot for next season in danger.

No matter whether Spurs finish third, fourth or even fifth, boss Mauricio Pochettino will want new signings this summer, and Tottenham may be looking to add a new talent spotter to their ranks.

Calciomercato report that Tottenham want Sampdoria scout Riccardo Pecini, though Empoli, Inter Milan, Napoli and Sassuolo also want him either as a scout or as director of football.

AS Roma new player Patrik Schick looks on during the friendly match between AS Roma and Chapecoense at Olimpico Stadium on September 1, 2017 in Rome, Italy.

A number of quality players have passed through Sampdoria in recent years, and Pecini is seemingly being credited for that, with Spurs now keen to land him in order to bring in new signings.

Pecini may even be able to push for two players he scouted for Sampdoria – Milan Skriniar and Patrik Schick – to be targeted by Spurs if he makes the move, given their huge success in Italy.

Pecini landed Skriniar from Zilina in Slovakia and Schick from Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic, with both players enjoying great success before heading on to Inter Milan and Roma respectively.

With Inter looking to raise funds this summer, Skriniar should be a Tottenham target as a replacement for Toby Alderweireld if they land Pecini, whilst Schick caught the eye of many Spurs fans against Roma, and would fit the bill as competition for Harry Kane – though Spurs may be looking to Pecini in order to find the next Skriniar and Schick, rather than needing to splash out for the real deal right now.
