According to Bild, Tottenham Hotspur want to bring in Freiburg defender Robin Koch to replace Juan Foyth this summer.
It’s claimed that Spurs have identified Koch as the man they want to sign this summer, with Foyth poised to move on.
Koch has allegedly told Freiburg that he won’t sign a new deal. His current contract expires in 2021, meaning Freiburg are under pressure to sell.
Tottenham allegedly wanted Koch a year ago, and are now back. Freiburg rejected a €15million (£13.5million) bid from RB Leipzig in January, and with just one year left on his deal, he could be cheaper now.
Tottenham will lose Jan Vertonghen this summer, and with major budget restrictions, a deal for a potentially cheap signing like Koch could make sense.
Koch, 23, has impressed in his three years at Freiburg, having arrived from Kaiserslauten in 2017. The German is big and strong at 6ft 3in tall, whilst he has also shown a turn of pace and a fine reading of the game.

Spurs could face competition for Koch though, as the Daily Star reported in April that Leeds United also want to sign Koch – yet they could still benefit here.
El Dia reported earlier this month that Leeds are pushing to sign Foyth as Ben White’s replacement, with Marcelo Bielsa keen on his fellow Argentinian.
Signing Foyth may mean that Koch ends up at Tottenham instead of Leeds, and the two young defenders potentially having their futures interlinked is certainly a fascinating situation as the clubs decide who they rate more highly.
