Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen is reportedly wanted by Borussia Monchengladbach.
Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen looks dejected after missing a chance to score
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen could be handed an escape route by Bundesliga outfit Vincent Janssen – and Spurs are also eyeing up Argentinian defender Juan Foyth.
Spurs swooped to land Janssen last summer after a superb season with AZ Alkmaar, in which he smashed 31 goals in 49 games for the Dutch side following a move from Almere City.
The 23-year-old couldn’t replicate that success with Tottenham last season, scoring just six goals in all competitions last term having struggled with the step up from Eredivisie football to the Premier League.
Many have wondered whether Tottenham would cut their losses and sell the Dutch international this summer, and The Mirror now report that German side Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in landing him.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Whilst Lars Stindl starred with 18 goals last season, Gladbach want to bring in a centre forward too, and Janssen has allegedly attracted the interest of boss Dieter Hecking.
Additionally, the report adds that Tottenham hold an interest in signing Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth, who has allegedly been recommended to compatriot Pochettino.
Foyth, 20, has come up through the ranks with local club Estudiantes having been born in La Plata, and after just a handful of appearances for the Argentinian club, he has caught the eye and has become a regular with the Argentina Under-20’s.
With an alleged £5million release clause, Pochettino may swoop to land Foyth and attempt to develop him at White Hart Lane, with the lure of playing under a former Argentinian international centre back in the Premier League potentially too good for the youngster to turn down should Spurs firm up their interest.
