According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in bringing Almeria striker Darwin Nunez to the club.
It’s claimed that Spurs have been keeping tabs on Nunez, ahead of potentially making a move to sign him this summer.
However, Brighton and Hove Albion are also keen, and the report notes that Benfica are closing in on a £25million deal for Nunez.
Tottenham will therefore have to be quick if they’re to make a move for Nunez, and that doesn’t exactly seem likely – especially at that price.
Add in that Tottenham are against the limit for non-homegrown players, and signing the Uruguayan seems almost impossible right now.
The 21-year-old centre forward joined Almeria from Penarol last summer, and he hit 16 goals in 30 games in Spain’s second tier last season.

Nunez is big and physical, but also has an impressive turn of pace, and has bagged one goal in one cap for Uruguay on the national stage.
The jump from Spain’s second division to the Premier League is a huge one, especially if he’s going to cost more than £20million, and whilst Jose Mourinho and co may be keen to land Nunez as competition for Harry Kane, it just doesn’t seem possible.
