According to German newspaper Bild, Tottenham Hotspur are on of the clubs interested in signing Augsburg forward Michael Gregoritsch this summer.

Spurs are once again in the Champions League next season after finishing third in the Premier League, and fans will be hoping to not only keep hold of star players, but also see some big new faces arrive as they move into their new stadium.

Tottenham’s strict wage structure has caused concern among fans, as they believe that they will only be able to attract a certain calibre of player not suited to challenging Manchester City.

Now, German newspaper Bild report that Tottenham are one of a host of clubs interested in signing Augsburg attacker Michael Gregoritsch, who is something of an unheralded player over in Germany.

The Austrian ace, 24, was on the books with Hamburg before heading to Augsburg last summer, and he has been a star with 13 goals and two assists in all competitions.

Gregoritsch, who can play as an attacking midfielder, winger or striker, could be a versatile weapon for Mauricio Pochettino, though Spurs should be prepared to pay up for his signature.

It’s claimed that Leicester City – as well as German sides Dortmund, Gladbach and Bayer Leverkusen – are all keen on Gregoritsch, who will allegedly cost much more than €13million (£11mllion) this summer.
