According to The Guardian, Swansea City may demand that Tottenham Hotspur loan defender Joe Rodon back to them for the rest of the season.

Sky Sports reported on Monday that Tottenham were in talks to sign Rodon, but no deal went through before the international transfer deadline.

Premier League sides can still buy from the EFL before next Friday, meaning Spurs remain in the hunt for Rodon, and are ‘favourites’ to sign him as things stand.

West Ham United still want to sign Rodon, but Spurs are set to ramp up their efforts to sign Rodon over the coming the days.

However, Swansea are demanding £18million for Rodon, but Swansea may demand that Rodon is sent back to the Liberty Stadium until the end of the season.

Tottenham may not be too keen on that idea, given that they need a centre back now in order to compete with Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez.

They did though engineer similar deals for Dele Alli and Jack Clarke in the past, so Spurs agreeing to Swansea’s idea can’t exactly be ruled out.

West Ham remain a threat, but with Wales Online suggesting that Cameron Carter-Vickers could be a makeweight in the move, Tottenham are understandably leading the race for the 22-year-old centre back, who should play for Wales against England tonight.
