Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring Monaco left back Benjamin Mendy.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Monaco left back Benjamin Mendy, with Manchester United also interested.
Monaco’s impressive domestic displays have seen them claim top spot in Ligue 1, whilst they are also into the quarter-finals of the Champions League having seen off Manchester City in the last 16.
Unfortunately for manager Leonardo Jardim though, those displays have triggered major interest in key players, such as Djibril Sidibe, Fabinho, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Thomas Lemar, Bernardo Silva and wonderkid striker Kylian Mbappe.
Another Monaco star wanted elsewhere is left back Benjamin Mendy, as The Sun claim that Manchester United are interested, with Tottenham Hotspur also tracking him.
Mendy, 22, joined Monaco from Ligue 1 rivals Marseille last summer, and he has notched one goal and eight assists in all competitions this term to become one of the top left backs in Europe.
A former Le Havre youngster, Mendy is an attack-minded left back with great pace and crossing ability, but with Ben Davies recently signing a new contract, Spurs moving for Mendy only makes sense on one condition – Danny Rose leaving.
Tottenham’s Danny Rose in action
The Mirror reported just last week that Manchester City are confident of landing star left back Rose in a £50million deal this summer, which would leave Mauricio Pochettino with a huge hole to fill, as Rose’s pace and attacking play make him key to Tottenham’s style of play.
Mendy fits the bill as a possible replacement, making him something of a fallback option for Spurs should they have to cope with Rose leaving White Hart Lane this summer.
