Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly joining the Premier League race to sign the 17-year-old.

Connell is grabbing plenty of attention despite only making two senior appearances for Phil Parkinson’s side. He provided an assist in their weekend FA Cup tie, and could now be in line for his first league start tonight.
And it appears that there could be a contingent of top flight scouts monitoring his performance. The Daily Mail reports that Spurs are set to send a representative to the game, while Southampton, Burnley and Brighton are also keen on the teenager.
The Daily Mail adds that his contract expires at the end of the season, and with Bolton in a precarious financial situation, the Championship strugglers could be forced to sell Connell in the final days of the January transfer window.

Connell – who can play in defence or in midfield – could prove to be a bargain signing in the coming years if he is able to realise his potential, especially with Bolton seemingly open to selling him this month.
And with Dele Alli amongst the growing list of players who have subsequently thrived in the top flight after breaking through in the Football League in recent years, it would perhaps be little surprise if Spurs swiftly make their move if they decide that they like what they see when they watch Connell on Tuesday.
