Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still keen on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

According to The Sunday Express, Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is set to sign a new deal with a £60million release clause included – and Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing him.
Grealish, 23, starred in the second half of last season and almost drove Villa back to the Premier League, only to fall short to Fulham in the Championship play-off final in May.
That sparked major financial woes for Villa, and it seemed that playmaker Grealish would be leaving his boyhood club in order to raise funds – but Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris not only stepped in to take over the club and alleviate those worries, but are now set to to tie Grealish down to a new deal.
The Sunday Express report that Grealish is set to sign a new contract with a staggering £60million release clause included – and that’s with Tottenham Hotspur still interested in signing him.
A number of clubs were linked with Grealish when it seemed Villa needed to sell him, with Spurs chief among them having been impressed with the playmaker’s ability.
Tottenham and Daniel Levy were biding their time, waiting for the right moment to take advantage of Villa’s financial problems and lure Grealish to North London – but they waited so long that Edens and Sawiris arrived and then prevented a sale.

Spurs attempted to resurrect a deal but couldn’t bring Grealish to the club, and whilst they are still keen, £60million – a club-record fee – may be too rich to move for Grealish in January.
That may leave Mauricio Pochettino frustrated, and Levy would certainly be to blame, as Grealish is now set to be worth around double what Spurs could have landed him for just months ago.
