According to Telefoot, Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for 2019 – but so do a host of Premier League rivals.
Spurs missed out on making any new signings over the summer, as Mauricio Pochettino was left to take last season’s squad into another Premier League season without any new faces.
It doesn’t appear to have been for the want of trying though, as RMC Sport report that Tottenham failed with a bid to sign Lyon’s star midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.
Some Spurs fans may be worried that he is now beyond Pochettino’s men, but Telefoot report that Tottenham remain keen on Ndombele ahead of the 2019 transfer windows.
However, it’s noted that four other Premier League clubs – Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United – are also interested in Ndombele and could firm up their interest next year.
Ndombele, 21, spent last season on loan at Lyon from Amiens, and after starring in midfield, he made his move permanent this past summer, with the French side immediately batting away bids from Manchester City and Spurs.
Ndombele is the ideal box-to-box midfield and a perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele in the Spurs midfield, but after City’s bid of £45million was rejected, Tottenham would have to break their transfer record to sign him – and with Ndombele starring in the Champions League this season, his price tag may only go up.
