Tottenham Hotspur are again being linked with Genk’s Sander Berge.

According to Bleacher Report, Tottenham Hotspur’s scouts want the club to move quickly for Genk midfielder Sander Berge in the January transfer window.
Spurs are expected to be in the market for at least one midfielder in January, with Victor Wanyama out of favour and Mousa Dembele out of contract at the end of the season.
Mauricio Pochettino may have targets in mind, but his scouts are out around the world looking for talent – and they appear to be very keen on a midfielder starring in Belgium.
Back on deadline day in August, Dagsbladet noted that Genk’s Berge was nearing a move to England, with Spurs have ‘concrete interest’ in his signature, but no deal went through.
Now, Bleacher Report claim that Spurs scouts know the club must move quickly to sign Berge, and are pushing for a January move before Fulham can get in with an attempt of their own.
Berge would allegedly cost around £15million, which is a realistic outlay for Daniel Levy, and the 20-year-old could follow in the footsteps of fellow Norwegians Erik Thorstvedt, Steffen Iversen and Oyvind Leonhardsen in playing for Spurs.

A huge holding midfielder at 6ft 4in tall, Berge is a physically dominant anchor man, but also has a turn of pace and technical ability, and could be a replacement for Wanyama rather than Dembele.
Berge has huge potential and fits the profile of a Spurs signing, but with contact allegedly made for West Ham United’s Declan Rice, Tottenham appear to have a couple of irons in the fire in midfield, even with scouts pushing for Berge.
