Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received a number of enquiries for Fernando Llorente this summer.
Llorente has endured a torrid spell at Tottenham. When he joined from Swansea for £12.1 million last summer – fee reported by Sky Sports – it appeared to be a shrewd piece of business with Mauricio Pochettino struggling to find the perfect understudy for Harry Kane.
Llorente arrived off the back of an impressive season with the Swans, and the fact that he had achieved a good return while playing for a struggling Swansea side suggested that he may be able to thrive with Pochettino’s men.
However, he goes into his second campaign with Spurs looking for only his second Premier League goal for the club. But perhaps there is a chance that he may end the transfer window playing for another club.
According to the Mirror (09/08; 09:32), Llorente has attracted a number of enquiries from some Premier League sides. It remains to be seen whether any of the offers appeal to Spurs – though it must be noted that the Daily Mail recently reported that Tottenham could be interested in letting the 33-year-old go on loan or on a permanent basis, with £7 million their asking price.
It would be an interesting move for Spurs if Llorente was to leave in any capacity this summer, as Pochettino probably does not have as much depth up front as he would like, so you would imagine that Tottenham may want to get a striker deal lined up themselves before they were prepared to let Llorente leave.
