According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are ready to get serious in their attempts to sign AC Milan maestro Franck Kessie.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 44-cap Ivory Coast international, as are Juventus, so Spurs face huge competition.

Calciomercato believe PSG could even offer Mauro Icardi or Leandro Paredes in negotiations with AC Milan.

In Tottenham’s case, it is said that Tanguy Ndombele could be offered to the Italian giants as part of the deal, which in itself would be a big statement, as the Frenchman is their club-record signing.

However, we believe it’s worth it when Kessie is involved.

The 24-year-old is currently refusing to sign a new contract with AC Milan, rejecting their latest offer to stay at the San Siro.

If Fabio Paratici can pull this deal off, it would be his best bit of business yet since arriving at Tottenham earlier this year.

What makes Franck Kessie so special?

Well, the Ivorian seems tailor made for the Premier League.

With 14 goals and six assists from midfield last season, the box-to-box midfielder is a very skilled technician, but also one who boasts impressive physical traits such as his upper body strength and stamina.

Tottenham have a great chance of signing him, with his contract set to expire in June – Paratici could even arrange a pre-contract agreement with Kessie in January.

Gazzetta dello Sport believe AC Milan offered their No.79 €6.5m-a-year (£5.6m) to stay, which equates to around £107,692-a-week.

Clearly, Tottenham are prepared to blow AC Milan out of the water to sign the midfielder, who moved to the San Siro for €28m (£24m).

According to Calciomercato, Spurs are readying an offer worth €8m-a-year (£6.9m), which would see the Ivorian earn £134,615-a-week in north London.

It might take some convincing to sign Kessie, as PSG are said to be readying a £148,000-a-week offer, according to Foot Mercato.

However, the former Atalanta maestro has already revealed his desire to play in the Premier League when speaking to Tutto Mercato Web.

In that respect, PSG’s infinite wealth might not be enough to turn Kessie’s head on this occasion.

By the looks of it, Paratici could be set to secure his best Tottenham signing yet.
