Switching to a 3-4-2-1 system has seen Eric Dier dropping into defence, and Harry Winks’ injury means that there is a lack of depth behind Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama right now.
Now, Tutto Mercato Web report that Tottenham are interested in snapping up Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino, who enjoyed a fine season in Serie last term.

Vecino, 25, joined Fiorentina from Nacional in his native Uruguay back in 2013, and after loan spells with Cagliari and Empoli, he has become a vital first-team player in Florence.
Last term, Vecino notched four goals and five assists for Fiorentina in a strong campaign, and the 6ft 2in Uruguayan international – who has 13 caps to his name – has impressed as an all-round midfielder with quality on the ball as well as being strong physically and defensively.

It’s claimed that Vecino would become a target for Tottenham if they lose Dier this summer, but contact has allegedly been made with Vecino’s agent already to gauge his interest in a move to North London.
However, with speculation surrounding the futures of Borja Valero and Milan Badelj, Fiorentina may not be too keen to sell another midfielder, meaning Spurs may face a battle if they really do want to sign Vecino.
