According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Lyon forward Maxwel Cornet, who has a £7million release clause in his contract.
Spurs swooped to sign one forward over the summer as Fernando Llorente joined from Swansea City, but given that he has scored just once this season, another attacker may yet be on Mauricio Pochettino’s wish list.
With more speed needed in attack, Spurs may yet search for a forward who can play out wide or up front – and one alleged target fits the bill.

The Mirror report that Tottenham are interested in snapping up Lyon forward Maxwel Cornet, though face competition from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
It’s claimed that Cornet has a £7million release clause in his contract, meaning Spurs may well believe that they can land a bargain in 2018.
Cornet, 21, has hit two goals and three assists in 15 Ligue 1 outings this season, though only six of those have been starts, as he continues to develop into a first-team regular for the French side.

A former French Under-21 international who now represents the Ivory Coast, Cornet has pace and dribbling ability, with his versatility across the front line potentially valuable for Pochettino and Spurs.
After moves for Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou reaped little reward, Spurs fans may be a little nervy about targeting another budget forward from France, and may have to hope that Cornet bucks the recent trend.
