Spurs are reportedly in the race for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder alongside the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted by a development regarding AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports from Italy.
The Ivory Coast international is currently on loan at the San Siro from fellow Serie A club Atalanta, having joined in the summer of 2017 on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy as per the official Milan statement at the time.
Kessie has been a fixture for the Rossoneri in the Italian top flight this season, playing all but one game – his absence enforced by suspension – and completing 90 minutes in all but two of those matches, according to Transfermarkt.
Likewise, it’s a similar story from the 2017-18 season, appearing in 54 games last term, and his overall tally for Milan stands at 75 appearances, with eight goals and eight assists claimed in the process.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, however, Kessie is reportedly desperate to play in the Champions League and, since they have finished sixth in Serie A during both his seasons there, he is said to be open to a move away should they fail again.
In addition, The Rossoneri are reportedly open to parting ways with the 22-year-old defensive midfielder because, should they fail to reach the Champions League, their obligation to buy means they would have an asset they could sell to raise funds – he is valued by TMW at 40 million Euro (around £36million).
The report suggests that Tottenham are said to be interested in Kessie, as are Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and several Chinese Super League clubs, but with Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama both linked with moves away – as reported in The Sun – Spurs could very well pursue this option.
