According to Bolavip, Tottenham are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Piero Hincapie, who has impressed Antonio Conte.

What’s the story?

Well, Conte is said to have sat up and taken notice of the 20-year-old, who has clearly dazzled Spurs with his excellent performances.

Bolavip outline how Bayer Leverkusen viewed Hincapie as one for the future after signing him from Talleres for €6m (£5m) back in August.

However, the 14-cap Ecuador international has exceeded expectations, and is now a regular for the Bundesliga side.

Hincapie has made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals while also providing one assist.

Spurs are not the only ones interested in signing the South American.

Bolavip add that AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Sevilla and Zenit St Petersburg also want to sign the exciting prospect.

Tottenham could sign a gem in Piero Hincapie

In our view, Tottenham may have stumbled across the next big thing to emerge from South America, and they must sign him before his profile rises.

As quoted by Goal, Talleres president Andres Fassi said Hincapie was the “best young defender in Latin America” upon his arrival.

Now, that is quite the statement.

Spurs already have one outstanding South American at the back in Cristian Romero, and if they can pair him with Hincapie, then they would be looking good for the future.

Under a coach like Conte, the sky really would be the limit for Hincapie if he chose to join Tottenham.

Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen.
