Tottenham Hotspur are moving into position to strike in the chase for Willian, according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Willian to Tottenham, as the Portuguese boss is a big fan of the Brazilian.
Mourinho and Willian worked together at Chelsea earlier in their respective careers, and have a great relationship with one and another now.
Indeed, Mourinho called Willian an ‘amazing’ player to Football London only a few years ago.
“Do you want to talk about Willian? Top, cream of the crop, he’s amazing,” the Portuguese boss said.
With Willian’s contract expiring at Stamford Bridge, Tottenham are now determined to come out on top in the race to sign the 31-year-old – with Arsenal also keen.
Willian’s form at Chelsea has actually improved since the restart, but the Mail claim that contracts talks are still at a standstill.
Willian wants a three-year deal but Chelsea are reluctant to offer him that at the age of 31.
Willian has scored five goals in his last five Premier League appearances for Chelsea, and if he was to move to Spurs he would offer Mourinho an increased number of options in attacking areas.
