According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has an uncertain future at the club as Jose Mourinho pursues Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
It’s claimed that Winks is the most likely midfielder to make way if Hojbjerg comes in, which looks a reasonable possibility.
Winks is allegedly valued at around £25million to £30million by Spurs. Daniel Levy would have to balance the books if Hojbjerg arrives, so Winks may go.
Southampton want £25million for Hojbjerg, but Tottenham – who are attempting to beat Everton to the Dane’s signature – are willing to add right back Kyle Walker-Peters into a deal.
Winks, 24, has come up through the Tottenham ranks, and now has almost 150 first-team appearances for the club.
An England international with six caps to his name, Winks is considered something of a midfield metronome with his passing, offering a composed if unspectacular option in midfield.

Hearing that Jose Mourinho may sell him is a surprise. Winks has started Tottenham’s last four games, helping Spurs pick up 10 points from a possible 12 against Everton, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Spurs seem better with Winks in the side, and whilst Hojbjerg may well come in, kicking Winks out of the club for him seems a surprise.
Mauricio Pochettino praised Winks as ‘amazing’ in 2019, and Tottenham offloading him just 18 months later may leave some disappointed if this report is true.
