Tottenham Hotspur may miss out on Paulo Dybala to Manchester United.

Paulo Dybala of Juventus looks dejected during the Serie A match between Roma and Juventus at Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy on 12 May 2019.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the agent of Juventus star Paulo Dybala is now in London – but it’s for talks with Manchester United rather than Tottenham Hotspur.

Dybala, 25, endured a major regression last season, going from 22 Serie A goals in the 2017-18 season to just five last term.

The Argentinian may now be sacrificed to raise funds, and the London Evening Standard reported just last week that Tottenham are aiming to sign the attacker, with Juve seeking £80million.

However, Juventus want to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, and are offering Dybala to the Red Devils in a swap deal.

It’s now claimed that Dybala’s agent has travelled to London, but it’s to talk to United officials rather than Tottenham, despite them being in the capital.

United may well be tempted to strike the deal with Juve for Dybala, offloading Lukaku whilst handing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a creative playmaker.

The Red Devils have often lacked a truly world class playmaker in recent years, so Dybala will be very appealing, especially as Lukaku is behind Marcus Rashford in the pecking order up front.

Spurs may be gutted to learn that United are nearer to signing Dybala than they are, but a move always seemed ambitious, and they can at least focus on signing Giovani Lo Celso instead.
