According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a deal to bring Joe Hart to North London this summer.
It’s claimed that Spurs want to bring in a homegrown goalkeeper this summer, and Hart is a name now being considered.
Hart has left Burnley, meaning he can now join Tottenham for free, but his wages may be an issue for Spurs as things stand.
Hart earned £50,000-a-week at Burnley, and that’s more than Tottenham have been willing to offer during discussions so far.
Spurs are now seemingly considering going back in with an improved offer as the 33-year-old attempts to land himself a new club.
The former Manchester City star has suffered a stunning decline over the last four years, having been ditched by Pep Guardiola before spells at Torino and West Ham.
Hart struggled at Burnley too, and now finds himself as a free agent and likely looking at a backup role – especially at Spurs, where he would be cover for Hugo Lloris.

Spurs have lost a veteran goalkeeper in Michel Vorm, so adding Hart does make sense. Vorm’s exit frees up a non-homegrown spot too, so signing an English replacement would be wise.
Clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have all brought in veteran English goalkeepers in Lee Grant, Scott Carson and Andy Lonergan respectively, adding cover without using up a non-homegrown spot.
Former Premier League winner Hart ticks that box for Spurs, but they need to find a compromise on wages to get him in this summer.
