Yves Bissouma only arrived at Tottenham in the summer transfer window, but he’s already being linked with a move elsewhere.

Indeed, according to The Telegraph, Chelsea have made an enquiry about the idea of signing Bissouma from Spurs in this January transfer window.

The Malian hasn’t pulled up any trees at Tottenham so far, and he’s been amongst Spurs’ worst performers since the World Cup break, but the north London club have shown no interest in letting the former Brighton man go at this juncture.

Interestingly, Spurs were sounded out about the idea of a part-exchange deal for Bissouma that could have seen Hakim Ziyech make his way across to north London, but Tottenham were unreceptive regarding that idea.

It’s interesting to hear that Spurs have turned down such a proposal. After all, they could really do with a creative spark in their side.

Say what you will about Ziyech’s limitations, and there are a few of them, on his day he’s a wonderful playmaker – as he showed at the World Cup.

Indeed, there’s a reason he’s been described as ‘incredible’ in the past. He’s got a wand of a left foot and when he’s in his groove he can cause problems for any defence in the league.

However, with that being said, Bissouma is a player with a lot of potential himself. He looked like one of the Premier League’s best midfielders during his time at Brighton, and while it hasn’t quite clicked for him yet at Spurs. Tottenham would be daft to give up on such a promising player after such a short period of time.

As we’ve seen. Chelsea are unlikely to be deterred when they want a player, so we may not have heard the last of this Ziyech story.
