According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-min won’t be out for as long as first feared – and could even face Aston Villa this weekend.

Son pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury against Arsenal on Sunday, leaving fans fearing a significant lay-off for the South Korean.

It’s claimed that Son’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared though, and he will likely be back to face Newcastle United after the international break.

Intriguingly though, the reports adds a quite stunning note in that Son could even be back in time to take on Aston Villa this weekend.

That seems utterly outrageous given that Son immediately went off on Sunday, and any hamstring injury tends to take more than a week to recover from at the best of times.

Spurs don’t need to rush Son back though, as he has honestly been needing a rest for some time having taken on a huge workload of late.

There is also the added factor of Son’s international commitments; if he faces Villa this weekend, he would likely head off to play for South Korea.

If Spurs hold him out this weekend, they may be able to stop him from going away and keep him rehabilitating at home, which is something Jose Mourinho and co must consider.
