Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing one last move for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make one final bid to sign Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Spurs are remarkably still the only Premier League team yet to make a new signing this summer, with fans desperate to see any new signing come in on Thursday.

With a move for Jack Grealish of Aston Villa looking unlikely, it’s unclear just where that signing is coming from – but Mauricio Pochettino may not be giving up hope of signing Anthony Martial just yet.

Football.London report that Tottenham are expected to make one more move for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial before the transfer deadline, continuing their long-term pursuit.

It’s stated that Tottenham are hoping to use United’s interest in Toby Alderweireld as leverage, as whilst United have rebuffed any Spurs interest in Martial, they are struggling to land other defensive targets – and Tottenham may hope that their desperate leads to some budging over Martial’s future.

Martial joined United from Monaco in September 2015, just months after Tottenham failed with their own move for the Frenchman, and a 17-goal debut season established Martial as one of the top young talents in world football.

However, the 22-year-old has failed to carve out a key role under Jose Mourinho, and the bizarre stand-off over the birth of Martial’s second child this summer has led to question marks over his future.

Martial missed out on France World Cup-winning campaign having failed to play regularly with United, and a move to Spurs could rekindle his talent – but Tottenham have to hope that United budge and get desperate in their move for Alderweireld on deadline day.
