According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are set to demand £60million from Manchester City for right back Kyle Walker this summer.
Walker has emerged as arguably the Premier League’s finest right back during his time under Mauricio Pochettino, though he did lose his place in the Spurs side to Kieran Trippier towards the end of this season.

Trippier’s impressive displays have led to many fans and pundits suggesting that he could even be better than Walker, and the decision may be taken out of Pochettino’s hands anyway.
The Mirror report that Manchester City remain keen on signing Walker as they pursue another right back having released Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna earlier this summer – but their hopes of signing him have take a blow.

It’s claimed that Tottenham are now prepared to dig their heels in over Walker’s future, with chairman Daniel Levy now increasing the asking price on his head from £40million to £60million.
The report claims that Spurs have looked at Virgil van Dijk’s now collapsed £60million switch to Liverpool, and believe that they are within their rights to demand a similar price for Walker as Southampton would have received for Van Dijk.

Whilst City are set to splash the cash this summer, it remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola’s men will entertain the notion of spending £60million on a right back, even one as impressive as Walker.
Spurs chairman Levy is known for his tough negotiating stances, and this appears to be his latest trick in the book, increasing Walker’s asking price by 50% on the basis of another proposed deal that won’t go through anymore – and City will be ruing Levy’s approach.
