Well, Harry Winks’s resurgence at Tottenham Hotspur might be shortlived.
Winks had been frozen out of Spurs’ senior squad at the time of Nuno Espirito Santo’s dismissal and Antonio Conte’s appointment.
However, the Tottenham midfielder has looked a totally different player under the Italian manager, who praised his midfielder as recently as February.
That being said, the North Londoners are planning to sell Winks despite his improvement.
According to The Daily Star, the Lilywhites will listen to offers for the 26-year-old during the summer.
The report adds that Conte has deciced that he isn’t in his long-term plans at Tottenham, and that Southampton and Crystal Palace are among the interested parties.
Good decision?
Honestly, probably.
Winks isn’t a bad player by any means but for a team with aspirations to get back into the Champions League and ultimately challenge for the Premier League down the line, Winks isn’t good enough.
Tottenham supporters have a soft spot for the player because he developed from their Hotspur Way academy.
However, he isn’t the midfield version of Harry Kane and the truth is that other midfielders could help out the club a lot more than Winks can.
