Who is Paulo Dybala signing for? Well that’s been a question that’s dominated chunks of the transfer window thus far, following on-and-off speculation about moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
In May, Italian pundit Massimo Brambati revealed he had heard that the Argentina international had an agreement to join Arsenal this summer.
However, that was dependent on the Gunners qualifying for the Champions League, something Tottenham ruined for their North London rivals in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
After that, Spurs found themselves linked and reliable Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla revealed that the Lilywhites had made an offer to sign the out-of-contract Juventus marksman.
Who is Paulo Dybala signing for?
Over the past week, it has been reported widely that Inter Milan had won the race to sign him.
And although Arsenal are definitely out of the running it seems, don’t rule out Antonio Conte’s outfit yet.
That’s because Tuttomercatoweb reported on Tuesday that there’s been a delay in Dybala signing a contract with the San Siro outfit.
The report adds that although the Nerazzurri remain confident of signing the high-profile freebie, Tottenham ‘remain at the window’ and are awaiting developments.
Based on this, Spurs still have an outside chance of luring him to North London and even if Inter was Dybala’s preference, he’ll have been impressed by Tottenham’s movement thus far.
Conte has signed three players already – Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma.
There’s a sense that the North Londoners could have an excellent season and maybe, just maybe, Dybala could still be part of that.
