Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a long-term Liverpool target.
Every transfer window for years, there was speculation about Liverpool signing Napoli powerhouse Kalidou Koulibaly.
He was the Reds’ defensive version of Nabil Fekir but, like the Frenchman, a move for Koulibaly never materialised either.
However, he remains linked with a move to the Premier League and this time, Tottenham are said to be keen.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs and Aston Villa are among the English outfits interested in signing him this summer.
The monstrous Senegal international, a central defender, is out of contract in Naples in the summer of 2023 and therefore a cut-price arrangement could potentially be in the offing during the upcoming window.
Despite failing to join Liverpool, he is most certainly a talented defender.
In fact, it’s been previously reported that Jurgen Klopp would frustrated that the FSG wouldn’t sanction the £100 million needed to sign Koulibaly last January, during their infamous injury crisis of the 2020-21 campaign.
With his contract expiring in about 14 months, Koulibaly’s price-tag wouldn’t be anywhere close to that, not to mention the fact that he’s now 30.
And with Tottenham desperately needing a couple of centre-backs this summer, and Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy being known for liking a bargain, this honestly has Spurs written all over it.
