Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could still ‘easily’ sign Adama Traore, amid speculation about Chelsea and Everton being reportedly interested.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger has been heavily linked with a transfer to Spurs in recent years, with the player rejecting a January move to North London in favour of Barcelona.

Even this summer, Tottenham have been credited with an interest but Jones also revealed last week that Chelsea and Everton were genuine candidates to sign the Spain international, too.

The Lilywhites’ managing director Fabio Paratici is said to be a big fan of the burly attacker.

And according to Jones, a transfer to Tottenham could still be achieved simply in spite of the lack of time left in the summer window.

He told Give Me Sport: “Traore makes the most sense, just because they’ve looked into it for so long. I think that’s one that could be done reasonably easily because Wolves have known for some time that he wants to go.”

With the transfer window closing tomorrow, time is of the essence for Tottenham, Chelsea and the Blues.

But Jones is definitely right in saying that the North Londoners might have an advantage over the Blues or Frank Lampard’s outfit.

As mentioned, this is a player who Tottenham tried to sign in January and no doubt Traore himself will have been aware of that.

And that could, in theory, strengthen Spurs’ case to sign him before tomorrow’s deadline because Antonio Conte and Paratici’s willingness has already been established and hopefully that’ll appeal to the Spaniard.

Having said that, you could argue that Everton and Chelsea need a wide player more than Conte, who has Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Lucas Moura and Dejan Kulusevski.

Regular football will be Traore’s priority and is he going to get it at Tottenham? Well, perhaps not.
