Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Napoli midfielder Allan.
According to Calcio Napoli 24, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Napoli midfielder Allan, with a €40million (£35million) bid potentially in the pipeline.
Spurs are in the market for at least one midfielder in the January transfer window, as Mousa Dembele looks set to leave the club in 2019 and Victor Wanyama is struggling for playing time.
Harry Winks and Eric Dier appear safe, but a physical, athletically gifted player to take over from Dembele as a box-to-box midfielder is needed.
Now, Calcio Napoli 24 report that Spurs are interested in snapping up Napoli ace Allan, with a bid of around £35million potentially being put on the table for January.
However, Napoli deem him unavailable for transfer and have no plans to sell Allan, especially having already told Spurs that they can’t sign Amadou Diawara – a midfielder further down the pecking order at the Stadio San Paolo.
Allan, 27, has starred in Italy since joining Udinese from Vasco da Gama in 2012, and then moving on to Napoli three years later, where he has racked up almost 150 appearances.
A hard-working, athletic midfielder who would certainly fit in Dembele’s role, Allan now has two caps for Brazil having finally broken into the squad this season, and Spurs may struggle to tempt Napoli into a deal in January.
