According to Sky Germany, Tottenham Hotspur have come forward with interest in signing Schalke defender Ozan Kabak.

It’s claimed that the best offer on the table is from AC Milan, but Kabak prefers heading to the Premier League if he is to leave Schalke.

Liverpool are keen, but it’s noted that Spurs have also shown an interest in luring the Turkish ace to England.

The report adds that a transfer is expected to ‘drag on for weeks’, because there is so much interest in his signature.

Kabak, 20, emerged with Galatasaray and then Stuttgart, before heading to Schalke in 2019, where he has been a first-team regular.

He also has seven caps for Turkey, and is considered to be one of the most promising young centre backs in Europe – even whilst playing for a truly dismal Schalke side.

Kabak isn’t the biggest centre back at 6ft 1in tall, but he’s strong and aggressive, which should appeal to Jose Mourinho.

Spurs moving for a new centre back in January may depend on Davinson Sanchez leaving, but it seems that Kabak is emerging as a potential target for Mourinho and co if an opening appears.
