Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received a boost ahead of the summer window, with Steve Hitchen rejecting the chance to leave.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to prevent Steve Hitchen leaving to join a Premier League rival, with the Tottenham figure rejecting an approach from Marseille last week.
The Mirror reports that the Ligue 1 outfit made a move to try and appoint Hitchen as their new Director of Football. The former Blackburn Rovers ace turned down the chance to head to France, but his future remains somewhat up in the air.
Manchester United are keen on Hitchen, according to the Mirror, as are a number of other Premier League clubs, but Pochettino is desperate for the Head of Recruitment at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to stick around and oversee this window.
Huge window for Tottenham
Spurs fans do not need reminding of how long it has been since the club made a first-team signing. Whatever the reason for their lack of activity over the last 12 months, it does put the likes of Pochettino, Hitchen and Daniel Levy under additional pressure this summer.

Tottenham supporters know that they have a side that is already capable of something special following a campaign in which they reached the Champions League final while also making sure that they finished in the top four in the Premier League.
With the right signings, Spurs surely have the potential to make that final step this coming season and win the silverware that they arguably deserve. It is now Hitchen’s time to prove that Pochettino was right to be so desperate to keep him.
