According to A Bola, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United’s reported January striker target Moussa Marega is keen to move to the Premier League.
The Mali international’s contract at Porto expires next summer.
Marega has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and earlier this year he was reportedly the subject of a couple of failed loan bids.
Foot Mercato claim Spurs and West Ham both saw loan offers for him turned down.
But now with one year remaining on his contract, Marega finds himself in a strong negotiating position and his heart is set on a move to the Premier League.
A Bola claims the 29-year-old isn’t interested in a new Porto deal, and if a move doesn’t materialise this summer, he is willing to wait to move for free in ten months.
Porto now face a dilemma as they could lose their powerhouse striker for free in 2021.
Moussa Marega has plenty of pedigree as a goal scorer:
Marega has been a top player for the team over the past three seasons, scoring 45 league goals in 87 appearances with a slightly better than one-in-two record.
Tottenham struggled for form during Harry Kane’s absence with injury last term.
Without Kane, Spurs lose that focal point upfront, not just in terms of goals but a player who can hold up the ball and bring others into play.
Marega would be a decent alternative. Standing at 6ft 1inch, he is a physically imposing forward with a goal record proving he knows how to find the net.
West Ham thought they had their own battering ram in Sebastien Haller. However, the Frenchman has struggled to make an impact since his big-money move.
The Hammers may seek an alternative this summer to widen their options.
