Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City all reportedly had scouts present for the recent Serie A game.
Milinkovic-Savic is arguably one of the most highly-rated midfielders across Europe given his ability to transition effortlessly between being a holding and attacking midfielder for the Biancocelesti.
The Serbia international recently opened his account for the season by scoring in the 4-1 win over Genoa. He also provided an assist in the win for Simone Inzaghi’s men, who currently sit fifth in the table.
And it appears that he had plenty of admirers at the game. The Sunday Mirror (30/09; page 65) reports that Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City all had representatives in attendance, and they are bound to have been impressed by the 23-year-old’s display.
Mauricio Pochettino is well stocked for midfielders currently, but it has been a difficult start to the season for Eric Dier, while Mousa Dembele’s future seems to remain in some doubt and his form has probably left Daniel Levy no more determined to meet any contract demands he may have.
Meanwhile, it would be an ominous sign for any sides, including Spurs, looking to challenge for the title this year if Manchester City or the Reds signed Milinkovic-Savic in January. The pair are already starting to put some daylight between themselves and the chasing pack – though Chelsea are still two points behind – and signing a player of the midfielder’s calibre would make them an even more daunting prospect to their rivals.
