Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Torino centre-back, but will likely have to wait until the summer to make a move.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in Torino defender Nicolas Nkoulou, but a January deal is already looking highly unlikely.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a good season in Serie A, scoring twice. Torino are ninth in the table, but have conceded just 19 goals in the league, having lost just four times this term.

Spurs are enjoying an excellent campaign and appear to have the potential to be right in the midst of the Premier League title race. Meanwhile, Arsenal have shown a lot of promise at times under Unai Emery.

Nevertheless, the pair have the two worst defensive records in the top five. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have conceded 21 goals this season, while the Gunners have shipped 10 more goals than their North London rivals.

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that both sides are admirers of Nkoulou, with Arsenal seemingly looking to seize the initiative by trying to find out about what it may take to get a deal done.

However, the report adds that Torino made it clear that the Cameroon international is going nowhere until at least the summer. So perhaps it may be a potential race that will only heat up once the season starts to reach a conclusion.
