Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are again being linked with Barcelona’s Andre Gomes.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are both set to try and sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes yet again this summer.
Gomes, 24, emerged as a star in his native Portugal with Benfica, earning a 2014 move to Valencia, where his impressive displays handed him a switch to Barcelona in the summer of 2016.
Viewed as the future of the Barcelona midfield, Gomes struggled in his first season last term, and it hasn’t got much better this term, as he has made just nine starts in all competitions this season.
With no future under Ernesto Valverde, Gomes looks set to move on this summer, and The Mirror state that both Tottenham and West Ham are back in the market for the midfielder this season.

Gomes is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League, and that leaves the two London clubs to once again battle it out for the midfielder’s signature over the course of the summer.
Both teams attempted to sign Gomes on deadline day back in August, but as claimed by Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague, Barcelona made a late call to keep Gomes, snubbing Spurs and West Ham’s bids in the process.
Tottenham’s Champions League status may just give them a boost in the race for Gomes’ signature, but having spent so long on the sidelines at Barcelona, first-team football may be his priority – and West Ham could offer him a starring role, though both teams should be wary of him featuring at the World Cup for Portugal this summer, meaning they may need to move early.
