According to Fabrizio Romano, Willian has finished his medical at Fulham ahead of a free transfer move to Craven Cottage.
The South American has been training with Fulham after leaving Corinthians earlier this month, and it seems as though the winger has done enough to impress Marco Silva and he’s now set to sign a one-year deal.
Willian has only been available on a Bosman for a matter of weeks after leaving Corinthians, and now, he’s set to get his dream move back to London.
The Brazilian international, of course, spent the best part of a decade in the English capital playing for both Chelsea and Arsenal where he tasted plenty of success.
Willian won two Premier League titles at Chelsea, while he was also labelled as a ‘special’ player during his time at Arsenal, and while his time with the Gunners was underwhelming in the end, he should still do a job for Fulham.
The Whites are absolutely desperate for a new winger. Both Manor Solomon and Harry Wilson are sidelined by long-term injuries, and, with all due respect, Jay Stansfield isn’t quite ready to be a Premier League regular at this point of his career.
Willian would bring some much-needed experience, quality and depth to this team, and while he won’t be ready to start against Brighton in this evening’s game at Craven Cottage, he could play a part against Tottenham this coming weekend.
His pace may have declined, but Willian is still an incredibly hard worker with unbelievable technical ability.
Willian has some unfinished business in England after a rather poor stint with Arsenal, but now, with Fulham set to sign him, he has a real chance to go out on a high with one last ride in the Premier League.
