According to Lequipe, Shakhtar Donetsk’s talented Brazilian winger, Tete, will cut his loan short at Lyon to join Leeds United.

The 22-year-old, who has been loaned to Lyon since the start of the season, is due to arrive in England on Friday and is expected to join Leeds.

Described as ‘special’ in the past, this player has been a highly rated prospect for some time now, with his performances against Real Madrid in the Champions League a few years ago catching the eye of many.

He’s your archetypal South American attacker. A quick and skilful winger, known for his ability to take on players and create chances for his teammates.

It is unclear whether this move would be a loan or a permanent one, but Leeds could do a loan more easily due to the FIFA rules regarding foreign players in Ukraine amid the conflict with Russia.

Leeds have already signed Georginio Rutter and Max Wober this month and are closing in on a move for Weston McKennie, and these four additions would certainly make them one of the most exciting sides in the league right now.

It’s unclear whether the addition of Tete will pave the way for a departure, but with Jack Harrison being linked to Leicester, that’s one to keep an eye on.

Leeds are currently in a relegation battle and Jesse Marsch will be hoping that Tete can help them climb the table and alleviate any fears of finishing in the bottom three.

Tete’s arrival would be a huge boost for Leeds and would add depth to their squad as they try to avoid the drop.

This is a player that can change the game in a moment, and he is a player that will excite the fans. Elland Road may have a new favourite very soon if this deal comes to fruition.
