Everton winger Bernard could move to Saudi Arabia this week after Al Hilal made a £6 million bid for his services, according to Goal.com.
There are always winners and losers when a team stumbles across a winning formula and it’s fair to say one of the best-paid players in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is stuck firmly in the latter category.
With James Rodriguez, Richarlison, Andre Gomes and co starting the 2020/21 season in fine style, Bernard has yet to make a single Premier League appearance so far.
The Brazil international was left twiddling his thumbs on the bench yet again during Saturday’s 2-2 Merseyside derby draw with Liverpool, his only action coming in EFL Cup clashes with Salford City and Fleetwood Town.
And with the Saudi Arabian transfer market open until Sunday, Al Hilal are trying to take advantage of Bernard’s reduced role at Goodison Park by offering him the chance to become a marquee signing for one of the biggest clubs in Middle Eastern football.

Interestingly, a conversation with Ancelotti himself convinced Bernard to turn down a reunion with his former Shakhtar Donetsk coach Paulo Fonseca earlier this month.
The 28-year-old was told he does have a role to play at Goodison Park, with Ancelotti telling the Liverpool Echo the “special” talent “is going to play in the future”.
How about Sunday?
Richarlison, of course, will miss the next three games after his sending off against Liverpool and Bernard could be in line to make his first Premier League appearance of the season against Southampton this weekend.
