Marco Asensio will not join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and has decided to move to Barcelona, according to Football Transfers, who have added that it could lead to Newcastle United target Raphinha being sold.

Barcelona decision affects Arsenal and Newcastle United

Football Transfers have reported that Arsenal and Manchester United want to sign Real Madrid winger Asensio in the summer transfer window.

However, the 27-year-old Spain international, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, has decided to join Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season when his current contract with Los Blancos runs out.

The report has added that should Barcelona be able to sign Asensio, then they will sell Raphinha just a year after signing him from Leeds United.

According to SPORT, Chelsea and Newcastle are interested in signing the Brazil international winger in the summer of 2023.

HITC View: Marco Asensio won’t join Barcelona

In our view, Marco Asensio will not join Barcelona if he leaves Real Madrid.

No way.

Madrid and Barcelona are massive rivals, and there is no way that the winger will cross that divide.

When you consider that the attacker has the option to join Arsenal or Manchester United, it is really impossible to think that he would make the hugely controversial move to Barcelona.
