Spanish outlet El Gol Digital claim Real Sociedad are looking to obtain Everton’s permission to cancel Sandro Ramirez’s loan in the January transfer window – with Villarreal said to be interested in landing him for the second half of the season.

The 23-year-old has managed just 177 minutes of La Liga football this season, failing to score a goal in all competitions since joining Sociedad on loan from the Toffees.

The report claims Sociedad want to cancel the loan but will only do so with Everton’s approval. It means the Spanish striker is likely to move to Villarreal, who fancy handing the striker the chance to replicate his Malaga form.

Everton landed the forward in the summer of 2017 after he scored 16 goals in 31 games for Malaga. But at Everton, he scored only once in 16 outings – which saw him leave to join Sevilla last season and then Sociedad this time around.

Sociedad are already planning for life without Ramirez, and they have targeted Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez as the man to spearhead their attack as the ex-Tenerife man continues to star in a disappointing Toon side.

Perez, 25, has been crucial in turning Newcastle’s fortunes around, scoring the only goal of the game in The Toon’s first win of the season over Watford before playing the entire 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Newcastle will not want to lose the versatile attacker, but if Sociedad come in with a bid that provides Rafa Benitez with some funds to spend in January, then they may be forced to sell. It could see Perez replace Ramirez.
