Barcelona will look to sell Emerson Royal in the new year amid reported interest from Everton, Newcastle United and AC Milan, according to Sport.
Last week Milan director Ivan Gazidis made it very clear when discussing what the Serie A leaders were looking for in the transfer market.
And, as you might imagine given the likes of Rafael Leao, Alexis Saelemaekers, Theo Hernandez, Jens Petter Hauge and more have all arrived the San Siro in recent times, the Rossoneri’s strategy revolves around exciting young talent that can be moulded into elite-level footballers.
Emerson, then, ticks a multitude of boxes.
At 21, the Real Betis loanee and Brazil international has potential by the bucketload. He also has no future at Camp Nou after Barca snapped up Sergino Dest from Ajax, according to Sport.
And, with Manchester United making it clear Diego Dalot’s loan spell at the San Siro won’t be turned into a permanent transfer, Milan have already identified Emerson as the ideal replacement.
Talks were held during the summer and the report adds a deal could be completed as early as the January transfer window.

Over to you then, Premier League suitors.
In August, Mundo Deportivo reported Everton had made an £18 million offer for Emerson, although it remains to be seen if the Toffees will renew their interest. Seamus Coleman has started the season in fine style but is Jonjoe Kenny ready to be Carlo Ancelotti’s second choice?
Newcastle and Tottenham were linked too, although Spurs appear to be out of the race after landing Matt Doherty from Wolves (MD).
Emerson is valued at £27 million by Barca, although Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has shown he’s willing to splash out on a promising youngster with substantial re-sale value – like Emerson for instance.
