Sevilla are ‘convinced’ that Europa League star Sergio Reguilon will end up in London this summer, with Arsenal the most likely destination for the Real Madrid-owned left-back, according to Defensa Central.

Given that Father Time is catching up with many of Zinedine Zidane’s most trusted warriors, Real’s decision to sell arguably the two most exciting young full-backs on the planet has certainly raised an eyebrow or two.

Achraf Hakimi was sold to Inter Milan despite a stunning season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Reguilon, after helping Sevilla win their sixth Europa League title in the last decade-and-a-half, could soon follow in his footsteps.

ESPN claimed a week ago that Real will accept just £23 million for a buccaneering left-back called up to Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for the first time on Thursday.

While Arsenal cannot offer the same financial or sporting package as a Chelsea side who will be playing Champions League football next season, the Gunners do have an ace up their sleeve.

Reguilon hired Kia Joorabchian as his new agent recently.

And, as you might have heard, Joorabchian has an excellent relationship with the Arsenal hierarchy, particularly technical director Edu Gaspar.

The Iranian was central to the deals that brought Willian, David Luiz and Cedric Soares to the Emirates since Edu returned to north London to work behind the scenes last summer.

Sevilla would jump at the chance to keep Reguilon for another season but, according to reports in Madrid, the Andalusians are ‘convinced’ that a man who produced eight goals and assists from left-back last season will be plying his trade in London in 2020/21.
