Southampton are reportedly keen on making Frank de Boer their new manager.
According to the Daily Mail, Southampton have made Dutchman Frank de Boer one of their top targets to replace manager Ronald Koeman.
The Saints saw Koeman complete his protracted move to Premier League rivals Everton earlier today, with the 53-year-old bringing an end to his two years in charge.
De Boer, 46, is a free agent having left Dutch giants Ajax after five-and-a-half years in charge, winning four league titles during his time there – and he could now replace former team-mate Koeman.
The duo played together for the Netherlands national team in the 1990’s, and later became rivals as Koeman’s Feyenoord took on De Boer’s Ajax – the biggerst rivalry in Dutch football.

Whilst the Saints are keen, the report claims that Southampton are concerned that De Boer could feel ‘snubbed’ after he was passed over for the job in favour of Koeman following Pochettino’s departure in 2014.
Talks will be needed to establish just whether De Boer would be willing to go for the job again, but two years have passed and having the chance to manage a progressive, well-run club like Southampton should be of interest to the former Rangers defender.
