Rangers have been linked with Wilson, who is Southampton’s director of scouting and recruitment, in the aftermath of Frank McParland’s departure from Ibrox.

Southampton’s Ross Wilson is interested in becoming Glasgow Rangers’ director of football, the Daily Mail reports.
Rangers are said to be considering a number of candidates for the role, vacated by Frank McParland eight days ago.
McParland, who worked alongside former Gers boss Mark Warburton at Brentford, followed the Englishman and assistant David Weir out of Ibrox.
Paul Mitchell (Tottenham Hotspur), Luke Dowling (Watford) and Stuart Webber (Huddersfield Town) are all reportedly on Rangers’ list of targets, along with former Gers player Craig Moore.
But Wilson’s alleged interest in the role could put him among the front-runners.
Since arriving at Southampton from Huddersfield in 2015, the 33-year-old has helped bring the likes of Cedric Soares, Virgil van Dijk and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to St Mary’s.
Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk used to play for Rangers’ rivals Celtic
Wilson, who has strong ties to Scotland – the country of his birth and where he began his career as Falkirk’s head of football development and football administration, previously turned down a role with Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic to pursue opportunities south of the border (BBC).
Would Southampton’s Wilson be a good appointment for Glasgow Rangers?
