Quincy Promes will not be joining Southampton today it seems.

According to Sky Sports’ Live Transfer Blog (entry posted at 09:58), Southampton’s pursuit of Quincy Promes has ended.
The Dutch winger was heavily linked with a move to Southampton but The Mirror reported on Monday that Promes had snubbed a £30 million move to the South Coast.

Sitting 19th in the Premier League table, the Saints are up a very famous creek and the addition of a player like Promes would have surely enhanced their survival prospects.
But the good news is that if Southampton did offer £30 million, then they can use that money to find somebody else before the transfer window shuts.

Problem is, they could be victimised by clubs inflating their price for players not only because it’s deadline day, but because they know Mauricio Pellegrino has that money at his disposal.
Southampton host Brighton & Hove Albion tonight.
